When I was in highschool, there was a big to-do about geese pooping all over our town soccer fields (threatening our future's shin-guarded ankles). There was talk of a hunt (and if I recall, selling the meat to a food-bank, but I could be making that up...because it sounds creepy), and the rental of a massive rented air-cannon...but the geese stayed, and they're still there.
